Hardcore Toyota GR Yaris spied testing at the Nürburgring
A more hardcore version of the Toyota GR Yaris has been spied testing at the Nürburgring – a year after the 'standard' one was released.
Very little information has been leaked about Toyota's new Yaris project with Gazoo Racing, but it is likely to come with more power and some visual changes. This Yaris, which can be seen undergoing a handling test, has been fitted with a larger rear spoiler, additional flaps at the front and more outlets in the front wings – making it looks more aggressive than before.
This design is something we haven't seen before and is a more toned-down version of the spy shots we saw last month of a GR Yaris with a more eccentric-looking body kit.
Rumours suggest this variant of the GR Yaris will produce more power than its already impressive 261hp from the same 1.6L three-cylinder engine seen in the current car.
Is Gazoo Racing moving away from rally driving and more onto a track-focused Yaris? It is hard to tell at this stage, but we would assume not. Instead, the brand looks to be making a better version of the GR Yaris... if that's even possible.
