Has a major Forza Horizon 4 clue just been unearthed?

A number of British cars hidden within the latest Forza 7 update have lead to speculation over where Forza Horizon 4 will be set.

Assumption, as the saying goes, can often make an 'ass out of you and me'. But then it would be odd for the latest Forza 7 game to include quite so many British cars for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Spotted by an eagle-eyed gamer, files hidden away within the latest Forza Motorsport 7 update mention the 1931 Bentley 8-Litre, 1958 Austin-Healey Sprite, 1998 TVR Cerbera Speed 12, 2010 Morgan Aero SuperSports, 2011 Eagle Speedster and 1965 MG MGB GT.

There is also word of the Peel P50, which Jeremy Clarkson drove around the BBC studios as part of an episode of Top Gear, as well as the Ford Escort XR3, Fiesta GRC and the Aston Martin DB5 (driven by a famous fictional spy).

Perhaps most interesting from a petrolhead perspective is the McLaren Senna hypercar, which has never featured in a video game and its very presence would be a slight kick in the face for Gran Turismo Sport.

Truth be told, the addition of all these British cars could simply be for a British motoring flavoured update arriving further down the line. But there could be far greater significance.

You see, developer Turn 10 Studios added a number of Australian cars to Forza Motorsport 6. Soon after, Forza Horizon 3 arrived, complete with the land of kangaroos and deadly spiders (amongst other things) as the backdrop.

If we apply the same logic and let speculation run wild, Forza Horizon 4 ─ likely to be unveiled at the 2018 E3 show in June ─ will be set in the UK. Presumably London, but then who is to say Yorkshire will miss out?

If true, drifting around London's Cenotaph would be a very real possibility (sans the media backlash, of course), which would be a good thing. But then Project Gotham Racing let you blast past Big Ben in a Ferrari before so maybe another country would be better.

Until Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios officially spill the beans, there is very little to go on other than Forza Horizon 4 is likely to be available on PC and Xbox One and that it will be a visual step-up on its predecessors.

We could also hazard a guess at a release date somewhere between September and October, based on past Forza launches.

  • If it is the UK chances are they will put together all the best parts of the UK to give a variety of roads and landscapes, a bit like they did in the last game. Can't wait to find out if it ends up in the UK or in Japan as previously speculated.

    • Yeah the lake district, Pennine beach, heathrow, Wales rally, London, Isle of man TT, Lydden hill rallycross circuit, even silverstone but it’s open world so you enter and leave as you please. Would be incredible.

  • Can't wait. What if they do a part of Britain with a race circuit nearby now that would be cool.

  • Maybe the cars are linked to a new UK-based track for FM7?
