Has Ross Brawn really put his considerable reputation on the line?
Brawn is quoted on the Liberty Media F1 site by "on side, friendly" veteran LB.
It remains unclear IF Brawn issued a selective press release or if he was interviewed by LB however, it is now being widely reported that "racing could improve by 20% in 2019" and that Brawn believes this is reality. Reads like hype, spin and bluster to me.
Team Managers and drivers who tested the 2019 aero package, which Brawn seems to have been referring to, had previously gone on record as saying "it does not seem to make much difference..."
Brawn made no mention of the Pirreli tyre issues which prevent drivers from being able to drive flat out, nor the MPG priority over continuous BHP, which continue to frustrate overtaking and racing.
