Has Tesla been taking Design Cues From Jeremy Clarkson?
The Cyberlander looks suspiciously like the the Citroen CX RV Jeremy built on Top Gear
We all know Jeremy's past fights with Tesla, and how Elon tried to sue Jeremy for his review of the original Tesla Roadster. So why would he be taking design advice from someone thought to be his enemy?
First of all in 2019 when the Cybertruck was first announced many people compared it to the Hammerhead Eagle I-Thrust, Jeremy Clarkson's artistic masterpiece created during Season 14 of Top Gear. They both share the bare metal look and boxy styling, side by side you can barely tell the difference.
Recently Tesla announced a special edition of the Cybertruck called the "Cyberlander" it had a pop up arrangement very similar to the motor home built by Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear many years ago. It also looks like a city block attached to a car, except for instead of using a Citroen CX, Tesla uses the Cybertruck as it's base. Now I will say that Tesla has improved on the design a little, making it retractable into the bed, but when erected it looks very similar.
These blatant copies of Clarkson's ideas make me wonder if Elon is trying to please Jeremy after his negative reviews in the past about Tesla, or maybe Clarkson is working as a secret designer for Tesla and we just don't know it yet!?! All we know is that Jeremy's genius is being used by Tesla and it certainly is frightening... to look at these monstrosities!
