  • A " must experience" on your bucket list. Everybody at the gate entrance waiting or resting is friendly and interesting, ranging from GT3s, crossbows, M3s to Dascias and Fiestas on holiday. I kept my eye on the mirrors 2/3 the time, 1/3 to line up your next corner. Rent a ring rental! Focus to 911s for all budgets. Eat at zur Nurburg, take a short walk to the castle then stay at Hotel zur Nurburg right down the hill. Great experience, all employees were helpful and pleasant. The museum is great, especially the " bus ride". Enjoyed immensely

  • If you ever decide to go (and you should!), and you can't bring your own car there, get a rental from one of the outfits around the area. I chose RSR, and picked the automatic GTI because I just wanted to concentrate on driving. And you absolutely must get a coach, at least for one lap, if not more. I've only driven Lime Rock and Watkins Glen (once each, so I'm no expert driver by any stretch of imagination), and the Nordschleife is just on another level. It has so many tricky corners, crazy elevations, really high curbs, and long, fast corners. Very intoxicating and addictive!

And yes, those accidents you see on youtube happen frequently. Not to scare anyone, but if you crash and spill oil, ruin the armco, and god forbid you hurt another motorist, you are responsible for everything. If a helicopter is needed to transport an injured person, you're paying for that helicopter ride.

But it' all worth it and will leave you with such an impression that you will want to come back!

    • You know it's serious when a track worker is running on the track waving yellow flag.
