Hello California!

Exactly two weeks after I completed the Stage One School of Racing at SimRaceway, I accepted a job offer at the school. I just had to get back there. This has been probably the scariest thing that I have ever done in my life. The Forest Service was all I had ever known for work (aside from one brief season with the National Park Service). I grew up in a family who was not into racing at all. So I decided to not be afraid of what family and friends would think about making such an abrupt switch from being a forest ranger to pursuing a career in motorsport. I am ready to do whatever it takes to get there. It will not be easy. But I have stepped many miles outside of my comfort zone and that is where amazing things can happen. For now, I work at the karting track, learning everything I can about karting and motorsport, as I am a latecomer, and getting as much time as possible driving a kart out on track. What better way to start than with the pure, raw form of driving that is found in karting? I believe it is never too late to make things happen, no matter what some people may say. One must never be afraid to follow their dreams. You just never know where they may lead.

So in addition to featuring stories and photography from motoring adventures on this tribe, I will also be posting about my journey along the path of motorsport. I am extremely excited to see to where this will all lead – a dead end not being an option.
