Hello fellow weirdos - I am helping (making tea) in the process of rescuing this Land Rover.
It is an ex MOD (Ministry of Defence) 1967 series 2a Marshal ambulance crash response (Ex RAF we think tbc) and was converted into a camper van.
We are located in Shetland (hence strange accents) and the sea air has been eating away at this since it came off the road in 2003.
It has been owned by a doctor who loves it as if it were his child and could not bring himself to dump it (despite much logical persistence from others)
Besides, it would have probably been rejected by the scrap man anyway...
So, a project starts.
Today we “freed up” the brakes by simply smashing them to bits and towed her down to the road to where we will collect her with the car trailer tomorrow (we didn’t actually expect to get this far today)
We also ambitiously/stupidly tried to see if we could get the engine to run, but our spanner nearly welded itself to the starter motor (see spectacular spark video)
The old landy also has a hand crank for people who don’t like having all of their discs attached to their spines, but I’m too unfit to play with that and besides, there’s no sparks at the plugs anyway - plenty of sparks at the starter however but that’s no help...
If you’ve made it this far you might as well subscribe and keep posted for coming updates and if you know marshal land rovers please get in touch.
Callum & John.

I’m not sure that bulkhead is gonna go again you know?
We are going to replace the bulkhead.
Initially we looked to repair as you can buy the “ends” for it and weld them on but, me and John went nuts with a chipping hammer and decided it was junk.
The owner also really wants it repaired to a very high...
