HELP I HAVE JUST SEEN ALL MY DREAM CARS WHAT DO I DO?
A moment of sheer awe in retrospect of the absolute insanity I saw yesterday.
First of all, I want to apologize for the lateness of this post. It has been 2 days since I walked out of the Vancouver Luxury & Supercar Weekend. It has also been 2 days since I have been able to have a complex thought that does not include "HOLY CRAP WHAT DID I JUST SEE?". After getting home browsing through all of my photos, I thought it was be fun to sort them. I had the idea of creating the ultimate collection on one article that had all of the photos so you can all see what was there. Unfortunately, I came across the slight glitch in that as soon as I try to add more than 50 or so photos to the page, my computer freezes up and won't save. Great. So here I am, pulling jerk move and saying, I can't put all my photos in this article. You might have to wait a bit. Until then, you can take a gander at some of the first photos we took and I promise I will return with the crazy ones.
So what did you see, Chloe?
The answer to that question is an easy one. I saw everything.
It was a rainy morning when I hopped into my friend Colin's Civic and started making our way. I had an idea in my head of a long well-kept lawn with various vintage cars lined up with their meticulously manicured leather interior and gleaming rims, proudly being shown off by sophisticated collectors all wearing monocles and holding a tiny detailing brush in hand just in case someone accidentally breathed too heavily near the engine. I imagined a few judges in smoking jackets making their way down the line at a snail's pace and glaring at anyone who might get in the way of their mental processes. And at the end there might be a shimmering Lambo, which makes the way for what seemed like the main event at this particular car show, the Pagani Huayra Roadster. I imagined the Huayra sitting on a small plinth so it can look down upon its inferiors, with a safe barrier from curious hands of red velvety ropes, perhaps a glass fence, and maybe some of those cool laser security systems you see in spy movies. I imagined secured elegance, the beauty of the McLaren to be held from a distance. And that still seemed amazing to me.
Boy, am I glad I was wrong.
We just so happened to park the lovely Civic right next to a Lambo. It had not hit me yet just how much I had to learn, and was about to learn after walking through the gate. At that point in time all I was thinking was, "oh my goodness I've never seen a Lamborghini before this is crazy!" Ah, you young and foolish Chloe, how silly you were.
I thought I had crashed and gone to heaven. It was amazing. None of these photos were even taken at the show itself. This was only the parking lot.
The concourse greeted us with classic cars in the best condition I have ever seen. They were gorgeous, and lined up happily in the rain.
Let me just pause a moment, because I must remind you that this is my first car show ever. I have only seen a couple of these cars in the wild. And to have all of them lined up in front of me was a sensory overload. I spent most of the first 20 minutes hyperventilating and hoping that I wouldn't fall in the mud.
These were the next cars that greeted us. Have you ever experienced the wonder of walking into a room with a puppy that you can play with, and then someone just brings in seven more puppies for you to cuddle and hold? Seeing these lineups felt a little bit like that.
And then there was a mother of all mental freakouts that I had to share with you right away.
The Pagani Huarya Roadster. An absolute monster, and one that just so happened to be placed on its rightful throne at the top of the hill. And I got to sit in it. Sort of.
Needless to say, my dad was pretty jealous.
And while I would love to go on about the absolute insanity of the rest of the car show, I have to go to class. But I would like to say thank you to everyone on DriveTribe who has helped me get to this point where I can enjoy the engineering and artistic genius that goes into masterpieces like this. And I promise there is more to come.

Great pics. And you haven't spotted all your dream cars yet since there must be something coming out in the near future that you fancy.

Did you get, by any chance, a better picture of this car?
(Not the Mercedes.)
I did!
