Help pass the RPM act and save our race cars

Why is this important?

If you are in America this might be our last hope.

Recently the EPA has passed a bill that if brought into law would effectively keep us from modifying our cars. In my opinion this is not only bad for us car enthusiasts but also downright unconstitutional. Our cars are a extension, an expression of us, and in america we have our freedom of speech, our cars are the speech we use, And while Emissions for regular road cars is understandable, this is because they are used way more often than track cars. Unfortunately they are also unaware that some of these mods, can actually help the environment rather than hurting it. Besides we are already so few and far between, almost any other sort of restriction on businesses would have a better effect. Racing also started on the roads, NASCAR for example, began when bootleggers began modifying their cars to outrun the police. And while I don't condone running from the law or illegal street racing in a way this would efectily be destroying our heritage.

What does this mean?

1. Vehicles that have been turned into racecars must still be EPA compliant.

2. Modifying the exhaust system even for the purpose of racing would be illegal

3. Manufacturing, Selling or installing "for off-road use only" (race parts) would be illegal

4. Turing a road car into a race car at all would also be made illegal

5. They will be enforcing these mods as well which could cause several companies to go under or pay large fines to the government.

How else would this be bad?

This is people's livelihood. People Make livings off of tuning cars or making mods for racing and is a market with a value of over $2 billion annually This would not only cost jobs but also hurt the economy, Especially if the companies, many of which are american, go under. This would in turn make it just as hard for foreigners to get mods installed as well. Cars are a happy place for many people, so doing this yet legalizing marijuana is hypocritical in my opinion. Cars are a community for everyone, blacks, white, straight, gay etc. to bond over common ground. If they truly are for unity, why get rid of something that can create it. Without the car scene many of us would more than likely have gotten into some other less legal or popular scheme, with these mods, we aren't able to spend money on other stuff that may or may not be legal. If they truly want to help the environment, put restrictions on big corporations, rather than the individual just trying to have some fun on the weekend.

So what can I do to help?

contact your government and tell them to support it, Write a letter, send them an E-mail, Hell use smoke signals or a messenger pigeon if you really want to.
