Yeah, but the third-gen Ram HEMI engines are really inefficient. They were a part of the Magnum engine era but they eventually updated the engine, adding the MDS.
You have the same average MPG as a 2005 Dodge Ram SRT-10.
Towing a heavy load will disable the MDS system, allowing the engine to use all eight of its cylinders which are less fuel-efficient. However, fuel efficiency can be degraded by many things, including, the type of spark plug you use, tire pressure, your air filter, and having an aftermarket gas cap (it disables the EVAP system).
The Hemi is fine for daily driving but if you do a lot of towing you might want to consider a diesel, I know my Hemi gets terrible mileage when towing, but I only occasionally tow so I can't justify spending the extra for a diesel

That's dreadful MPG
Yeah my dads 07 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 averages 14 normally and drops to 12 when towing the Jeep
My last ram got around 11. With the 2015 I've been getting around 18 on average. I was surprised it dropped that dramatically.
