Now that is some way to celebrate your 30th birthday

It has been 30 years since Hennessey started fiddling with cars in order to convert them into a complete monster. To celebrate its 30th birthday, Hennessey has revealed this - the limited-run 'Exorcist' version of the Chevrolet Camaro.

This special Camaro is powered by a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 which produces a mad 1,014hp and 883lb ft of torque. All that power comes courtesy of a high-flow catalytic converter and an HPE engine management calibration.

Thanks to all that power the upgraded muscle car can do 0-60mph in 2.1sec and do the quarter mile run in 9.57-seconds. Flat out, it will do 217mph.

Each Camaro will get this lovely red and black paint scheme with bespoke badging. The build number of every car will be inscribed on its chassis plate.

You can get this monstrous Camaro in coupe or convertible form and Hennessey says that it is open for not only US, but also worldwide customers.

John Hennessey said: "The Exorcist is the epitome of the American Muscle car and has the off-the-line performance to embarrass almost any car on the planet. We've been making fast cars faster since 1991, so our 30th Anniversary Exorcist pools all we know into one ferocious supercar slayer."

Only 30 hardcore 'Exorcist Camaros will be made with each one costing $135,000.

  • this isn't a new car btw, this is a few years old. It's a production run. It was on the grand tour.

    • No, besides the different colors and badging. The Exorcist is a Camaro ZL1, the 30th anniversary is a ZL1 1LE (and yes there is a difference besides wings).

  • Impressive, it’s almost as fast in the 1/4 mile as the Tesla S Plaid

    • Yeah but this one's real

    • Yes true only the Tesla is actually available to buy and has been independently tested. Sounds like the Exorcist is coming later this year and only a few will be sold?
