Hennessey's Venom F5 running on half horsepower cracks 200mph with ease
Look at it go!
Following a lenghty teaser, Hennessey has final shared some footage of its upcoming Venom F5 in action and its performance in a straight line is mind-boggling.
It is powered by a mighty 6.6L twin-turbocharged V8 which produces a total of 1,817hp and 1,193 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, it weighs just 1,360kg (2,998 pounds) making it a proper rocket ship of a car. Hennessey claims the car can surpass 311 mph (500 kph), which would outperform the official speed set by the SSC Tuatara.
In this video released by Hennessey you will see the Venom F5 hit 200mph with ease and that's with only half its power engaged which is still a lot at 900hp. The testing was done at a 2.2-mile runway located at a former US Air Force base in Arkansasa and you have to see it to believe it.
Chief Engineer John 'Heinrocket' Heinricy said, "For more than 40 years, I've been developing high-performance vehicles, yet nothing compares to the Venom F5. We're making excellent headway in our mission to deliver a world-class hypercar to our customers that handles superbly while managing its phenomenal power and speed with finesse."
