Here are the first official images of the 2021 Genesis GV80!
Premium or luxurious?
It was after several weeks of waiting with leaks that Genesis finally decided to release the first images of its GV80 large SUV. Competing with the BMW X5, Audi Q7 and Mercedes GLE, the Genesis GV80 intends to stand out from the latter with a radically different and very personal style.
With its slightly curved lines, the GV80 has a particularly dynamic and refined look. The front end adopts the codes of luxury vehicles, namely a large grille with diamond-shaped meshes, which is very refined. This large grille is surrounded by two levels of thin headlights, which make the whole thing very expressive. These headlights become the Genesis signature light.
The cabin plays the minimalist partition with a fairly sleek dashboard. For example, the number of physical buttons is reduced to a minimum in favor of a touch screen dedicated to climate controls like on the Audi Q7. Above it is a large touch screen controlling the infotainment system. The gear selector is an electrically retractable cylinder like on Jaguars.
The Genesis GV80 will be available with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. At launch, a 3.0-litre, 274-hp V6 diesel engine will be offered. It will be joined by a 2.5-liter inline-four petrol engine producing 300 hp and a 3.5-liter petrol V6 producing 375 hp, which will serve as the top-of-the-line model.
