Here is a MKIV Ford Cortina in Cork, Ireland. This is a locally built example from the Ford plant in Cork, opened 100 years ago by Henry Ford. After the Ford Model T became an extremely popular car in America, Henry Ford searched for a suitable location in the U.K to locate a new factory. He chose Cork, the birthplace of his father, William, and the home of his grandfather, Henry Ford Sr. The MKIV was produced from 1976-1980 and it was sold in saloon, coupe and estate variants.
