Here is the entry-level Mercedes S-Class!

The entry-level price of the high-end Mercedes

With its arsenal of revolutionary technologies, the new Mercedes S-Class has once again brought its bunch of innovations to the automotive world. One week after its presentation, the orders for the flagship sedan are already open in Germany. The perfect opportunity to discover the entry-level model.

Obviously, the car is slightly less attractive than the model presented to the press. For example, the more simplistic design of the 18-inch rims is noticeable. On the profile, the flush door handles giving the car a futuristic look have disappeared. They cost €1,392 (£1,282/$1,650).

At the front, the Digital Light headlights that project information on the road are replaced by Matrix LED headlights. The standard head-up display is optional, as is the augmented reality head-up display. Inside, the seats have basic leather upholstery.

However, there are still some equipment issues. Heated rear seats and steering wheel are optional, as are rear side airbags. It's a shame because the new S-Class doesn't really come cheap with a €94,540 (£87,054/$112,032) entry-level price. Under the bonnet is a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine developing 286 PS. It is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
