Two weeks after its official presentation, the fourth-generation Škoda Fabia is already available on the brand's Czech configurator. This is the ideal opportunity to compare in advance the top-of-the-range version highlighted during the world premiere and the logically more modest entry-level model.

From the start, the first trim level, called Ambition, does not offer the most jovial presentation and is not very ambitious on this point. The Fabia's front end is equipped with basic full LED headlights and 15-inch steel wheels with hubcaps.

The car naturally dispenses with the chrome trim and two-tone paintwork, while the rear end lacks the LED taillights. The interior loses the grey satin inserts on the door handles and the centre console for raw plastic elements. The steering wheel is made of foam and the infotainment system has a 6.5-inch colour touch screen.

In terms of equipment, the Fabia Ambition has the essentials with 6 airbags, automatic emergency braking, DAB radio and manual air conditioning. Under the bonnet, the city car hides a three-cylinder 1.0 MPI with 65 PS and a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Škoda Fabia Ambition is available from 357,200 CZK (€14,050/£12,080/$17,080) in the Czech Republic.
