The Rolls-Royce Ghost was so eerily quiet inside the engineers had to make it louder

Today on Tuesday September first, Rolls-Royce unveiled its all new Ghost, and it looks surprisingly different from any Rolls-Royce that has ever come before. The new Rolls Royce Ghost is fitted with an upgraded 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine, delivering 571PS and 850nm! The Ghost at over 17-feet long and costing more than $300,000, the Ghost is still enormous and costly by any ordinary standard. But it is more practical and better on the road than Rolls-Royce's eye catching Phantom sedan. With the new 2021 Ghost, designers and engineers gave the car a cleaner exterior appearance and a simpler interior with fewer diversions. The Ghost displays a sort of simplicity and cleanness on the outside and on the inside as well.

Inside, extra large sheets of leather are used to minimize stitching. There's still of course the famous Rolls Royce luxury experience. The grille is also gently lit at night inside the car. Inside, a section of the dashboard in front of the passenger glows with "stars." You can see the word Ghost glowing throughout the car. When the effect is turned off, the panel looks simply black. It is a nod to the well known Rolls-Royce's famous "starlight" headliner that also glitters with scattered specks of light.

The new Ghost has followed its claim to be lighter and stronger and to give much more structural freedom. The new car's overall length has grown by 3.5 inches to 218.3 inches, and its width has increased by 1.2 inches to 77.9 inches, although the 129.7-inch wheelbase is identical. Torsional stiffness has also increased. Everything has become more refined. These are three full-figured four-doors. Rolls-Royce will soon offer an even longer, extended-wheelbase version of the Ghost.

The Ghost also has all-wheel drive, which is a first for a Rolls Royce, and an optical road-reading suspension to adjust to road imperfections. It is aiming to deliver the unerringly quiet and smooth ride you'd expect from a Rolls-Royce. It is a beautiful and simple car. Or "post-opulent" as Rolls Royce says.

AS QUIET THE NIGHT

Designers and engineers wanted the new Royce to be a relaxing and a quiet space to escape from this world. Customers found the near total silence disorienting, "disturbing" or "too quiet", because the lack of sound didn't match up with the car's movement. It felt like the car was "floating" or "gliding", that it wasn't really driving. Rolls-Royce engineers realized they'd initially made the car too quiet inside. Sound engineers had put 220 pounds of sound insulating material into the car, including inside window glass and in the tires. They tried to eliminate even tiniest noises that even the regular person might never notice.

This car was never supposed to be "superficial expressions of wealth," said Rolls Royce. This car executes simple, clean and beautiful designs. It brings a peaceful and calming experience and environment. A car that shows class, and isn't overwhelming with luxury components. It is the perfect car for people who want to get away from the worlds stress. Rolls Royce has definitely succeeded again. The Rolls Royce Ghost is definitely a masterpiece.
