Here's the Harley Davidson LiveWire in all it's electric glory
Harley Davidson Has released the technical information and some more photos of their new electric motorcycle - The LiveWire.
Now we have some information on the bike, we can do a bit of 'oohing and aaahing' about this electric bike that looks like a normal one - because that's the point, it keeps the spirit of the motorcycle but takes it forward. It's 2019, yet we are slowly getting closer to Blade Runner and Akira - Robots and futuristic bike gangs in Neo-Tokyo.
Even though we don't have the horsepower or torque ratings yet, we do have some snippets of 'good news' figures. With its electric drivetrain, it can achieve a 0-60mph in less than 3.5 seconds with its twist and go system. They also said the bike will do an estimated 'Urban road' range of 110 miles on one charge - depending on the way you charge the bike up though. A standard home charging point will give you 13 miles for every hour you charge it for - a Level 2 charger will be slower than a Level 3 fast charger, which can give you 192 miles range in under an hour.
And with the H-D app, you can connect your LiveWire Motorcycle to your phone, knowing all the ins and outs of how your bike is doing: Charging times, miles done, tracking, finding your closest charging points, the list goes on. The Connect service will be free for the first year with the purchase of your new LiveWire, after that, we do not know how much it will cost.
Prices are hovering around at $29,799/£23,338/€25,967 but only available for pre-order in the United States at the moment.
And now, for something slightly different...
Here are two more electric bikes that Harley Davidson has shown off as apart of their growing electric power range. Two concept bikes of a different kind - one being a dirtbike of sorts and one being an electric powered BMX/scooter. The company states that both can be used without a motorcycle license and both having small batteries that you can carry with you.
Not so sure on the last one though...
