Here's the Limited Edition Ford Ranger You Never Knew You Wanted
This is Ford's latest creation, the Ford Ranger Thunder. Now, I'm pretty sure Ford has a thing for naming their cool pickups after elements in a storm. Seriously, take a look and you'll see what I mean: there's the Ford Lightning, the Ford Ranger Thunderbolt, and now this, the Ford Ranger Thunder. So then, let's look at Ford's latest limited edition version of the #1 selling pickup in Europe.
Before I go any further, I should mention that the Ranger Thunder really is a limited edition. In fact, there will only be 4,500 examples of the Ranger Thunder. And here's the bit that I don't get: it'll only be sold in Europe. Let me remind you that Ford is an American automaker, and the United States pickup market is better than in any other country possible. This is betrayal Ford. My feelings are hurt right now.
With my feelings aside, back to the actual review of the Ranger Thunder. So lets you say are one of the 4,500 people who got the Ranger Thunder: what do you get? Well, you get a 10-speed automatic gearbox, four-wheel drive, and Double Cab as standard. More importantly, you get a bunch of different styling touches. All Ranger Thunders will be painted in Sea Grey, and black 18-inch alloys. You also get a black front grille, rear bumper, skid plates, and the surroundings for the fog lights. Of course, you get some epic "Thunder" badges on the sides.
Additionally, you get some embroidered "Thunder" badges on the seats and matching-colored stitching all over the interior. You also get a load bay bedliner, and a load bay divider.
Here's the big disappointment:
Sadly, the Ranger Thunder won't contain the Raptor's 450 horsepower, 510 lb-ft torque 6.2 liter V8. Instead, The Ranger Thunder will contain Ford's 2.0 liter EcoBlue diesel engine, producing 210 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Another big disappointment? You've reached the end of the article!
