Here's the luxurious Mercedes-Maybach GLS!
It's taking on the Rolls Royce Cullinan!
Mercedes' luxury range is called Maybach and extends to the most prestigious models of the star brand. After the S-Class limousine, it is the turn of the huge GLS SUV to adopt the Maybach logo. This model has also been the subject of a teaser that is still very recent.
Scheduled for the Guangzhou Motor Show, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS made a premature appearance on the Internet via wilcoblok's Instagram account. Its bodywork is of course in a two-tone colour reminiscent of the Maybach spirit, with black in the upper part and white in the lower part. Other elements add an additional touch of exclusivity to the Maybach GLS.
The front end adopts an XXL grille with multiple chrome bars. The Mercedes logo is placed on the hood, as on the brand's older models. Chrome is abundant: it is found at the bottom of the doors, on the roof racks and all around the side glazing. The Maybach logo is proudly displayed on the C-pillar.
The cabin, on the other hand, makes concessions in terms of practicality. Indeed, the five and seven seats of the GLS are over! The Maybach GLS is equipped with four seats, two of which are truly comfortable in the rear. There is therefore a huge space specially dedicated to the rear passengers of the vehicle, including individual tablets and a massive transmission tunnel.
The rest of the interior is entirely covered with leather. The XXL panoramic roof provides light on board while the ambient lighting enhances night-time travel. The dashboard is the same as that of the GLS, with a few details. The 10.25-inch digital screens placed side by side are part of the package.
Under the hood, there's a massive twin-turbo V8 making 550 hp and 730 Nm of torque. It's accompanied by a 48V EQ Boost system that adds 22 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The engine will then be accompanied by 4Matic all-wheel drive system and a 9-speed automatic transmission. Incredible fact: this 2.78-tonne (6,140-lbs) Mercedes-Maybach GLS does 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 s!
