Here's what 0-60 in a Tesla Roadster looks like
Is Tesla about to prove EV car doubters wrong?
Tesla just released a video on Twitter of passenger reactions to the seemingly immediate power of the anticipated Tesla Roadster.
Watching the video you could be forgiven for thinking that the passengers are in something other than an electric car. It looks as though it just takes off! With such an abundance of power being distributed so quickly some of the passengers look visibly shocked.
On-screen subtitles confirm what your ears may have picked up, people shouting things 'Woooooo' and 'Holy S***t'. To those who are still cautious of the new EV car market; hearing passengers looking to be having fun in a Tesla at speed has to install some kind of confidence in the future of motoring.
Those of you with a keener eye will have noticed that on the enormous screen in the centre is almost some kind of take-off graphic. As the Roadster springs into life the centre screen changes to a run-way which is visible for a split second before the shot changes.
What we know so far is that the Tesla Roadster is going to have a top speed of 250mph and will go from 0-60 in just 1.9 seconds. But, with an EV the more important information required is the range, the roadster will supposedly be capable of a 620 mile range.
Want one? Yep, me too. Tesla is currently taking $50k deposits for the $200,000 Roadster with production expected to begin in 2020.
