Hi-School Hot Rod Looks with a Twist: 1968 Pontiac Firebird

There's something not so normal about this rough & ready street machine.

... a '68 Camaro nose makes this a very unusual vehicle. I asked the owner, he just said he preferred the Camaro front-end styling.

While at Goodwill earlier, I saw a '68 Firebird brimming with "high school hot rod" esthetic and looking as though the owner has a taste for Mickey's "Big Mouth" malt liquor and unfiltered cigarettes. I also noticed something "off" about it and recognized a '68 Camaro front clip. I took photos, then talked a bit with its owner, who was most assuredly *not* a malt liquor-drinking, coffin nail-smoking trailer park denizen. Just one of the most memorable muscle cars I've seen in a while.

The favored libation of the owners/builders of these kinds of rides back in the day.

I couldn't get pics inside, but it had black vinyl seats with black shag carpet, a Hurst 4-speed floor shifter and a Grant GT foam-wrap steering wheel inside. I believe it may have even had an 8-track deck.
