Holden has issued a recall notice for a small number of new Astras and Commodores sold in both Australia and New Zealand. The model year of the cars in question is 2019 and 2020.

Holden Australia cited that there may have been an issue with the weld that joins the crossmember and seat frame. This could result in rear passengers having a higher chance of suffering serious injuries during rear-end collisions.

The good news is that the improper weld only affects 131 cars in Australia and around 70 in New Zealand. The owners of the models in question will receive letters to visit their local Holden dealer who should take no more than half an hour to fix the issue.
