Holy Trinity - 2.5

The McLaren F1 (LM Spec)

Here is part 2.5 of my 1/64 recreation of the "Holy Trinity" as described by Carfection and the July 2021 issue of Octane Magazine the McLaren F1 (LM Spec). What is a McLaren F1 LM Spec?

McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has upgraded two McLaren F1's to LM Spec cars. The first reason these cars are considered LM Spec is because MSO has installed the upgraded LM engine that was used in the McLaren F1 LM that was released to commemorate the F1's win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in '95. This engine produces 680hp. In addition to the upgraded engine both of these LM Spec cars have the High Downforce Kit (HDK) installed. The HDK looks very similar to the aero kit that was used on the F1 GTR. However, the HDK installed on the two LM Spec cars actually create more downforce than the GTR. One car is currently on display at the Petersen Auto Museum and the second is in a personal collection in Europe.

All three legends together.

I still need to create a matching Hot Wheels McLaren F1 Roadcar for part 3. If anyone has a way of getting a couple before they hit the shelves please let me know.

  • So green with envy because of the 911. Already got 2/3, but the Porsche is unobtanium.

    • The Porsche was only few bucks plus shipping on the Bay for the mainline version.
