You Know You're Going To Try It

Anyone tuning into to DriveTribe's Facebook recently witnessed history being made as two middle-aged men, James May and Richard Hammond, built a LEGO model, answered trivia, and did shots of (NOT) vodka.

Many of those who watched this competition realized two things:

1. It was utterly pointless.

2. Yes, they are going to try it themselves.

For those ready for a weekend's entertainment, of LEGOs and regret, here's what you need:

• Lego Technics Kit. Race Cart model is around $26 to $30 (approx £20 to £24)

• Souvenir British Shot Glass. Similar glasses to the Beefeater, London Guard frosted glass can be found at souvenir shops, online at sites like Amazon, Lambert Souvenirs, or even eBay. They are usually around $2 (approx £1.75).

• Definitely not vodka. From the looks of the bottle of what was certainly not vodka May and Hammond knocked back, and according to a look at popular brands, this could have been Smirnoff (about $20 or approx £16).

Disclaimer: I'm not advocating getting smashed, so those like me who don't or can't drink alcohol, but don't mind a caffeine kick, this could also be fun with some Monster Energy Drink for about $6 a four-pack.

For an all-ages version, instead of drinking anything, simply time yourselves. Add 5 seconds to kit-building time for each wrong answer. Add up final times when all kits are built for the winner.

• Trivia Source. There are plenty of standard trivia games out there, but if you want to specify car trivia, car trivia books available, as well as online quiz sources like Sporacle.com, Zeroto60times.com or FreePubQuiz.Co.Uk.
