Welcome to Hot Sixty 4th where I showcase DLM 1/64 and smaller and sometimes slightly larger. Sometimes you get some sort of a surprise from Mattel and it turns out to be a positive one. For this release instead of the usual generic truck that transport the car we got a license one for a change. First I would like to give credit to the beautiful art work which compliments the racing livery of the casting. This is another mix 6 of Team Transport and for my 6th post in Drivetribe and 252nd total post I present the #15 '64 Custom Ford Galaxie 500 and a licensed Ford C-800.

What attracted me to this TT is the nicely done vintage racing livery that looks great on both the Galaxie and the hauler.

We've been seeing a lot of JDM casting getting the premium treatment so I'm glad that the classic Ford Galaxie is back in the premium range after a long absent and this one does not disappoint. I love the color, the look of the livery and even the Premium wheel that was used which gives this a nice vintage look.

This new 2 car transporter may have been inspired from the Isuzu Elf Hanamidai Motor from TLV which is another 2 car transporter although they are totally different from each other. The cab and chassis are made of metal while the bed is plastic. I notice that the bed is white which is consistent with the color theme of the racing livery but I do wonder if this is a wise decision in real life as the constant contact with tires and grim would leave a very visible mark on this color. Also I haven't really found a reference of an actual truck so I am not exactly sure how this real 2 car hauler would load the cars. On the negative side I felt that the size of the truck is not proportion to the size of the Galaxie as it looks smaller (or the Galaxie looks bigger) as the front hood of the Galaxie is actually touching the bottom of the see-saw ramp. One last rant is the choice of wheels as I felt a vintage looking truck does not go well with low profile 5 spoke wheels.

Since I sold my mainline Galaxie -which I now regret- I don't have another one so just for show I loaded a ford racing van with a Gulf livery. Well it's still a Ford, right?

I was able to find this a few weeks after I found the Jag and I haven't seen this stay on the peg for long but was somehow surprised that the Jag with a nice looking British Green racing livery is somehow becoming a peg warmer... at least in our area.
