  • I have had several BMW’s with the range computer reading 0 for miles on end. It has 30 until it actually runs out. Same with most cars. It’s actually a federal mandate.

Anymore I keep fuel in the tank. Never know what else 2020 will bring. Nice to be able to hop in and get to one of two evac locations!

    • I don't think it is an official mandate. I had a new Hyundai once, it reached 0 and stopped immediately. Was the only one time I ran out of gas in my entire life - and I have run low in the Death Valley among other places.

  • I don't let it go below half a tank. Once you have been in some kind of natural or man made disaster, you won't either.

  • I think about half a tank, but I’m not in my car (the most I’ve put in at a fuel station was 50.13 litres, and my car only had a 50 litre tank)
