How old must a vehicle be to be considered a rat rod? My 1990 blazer seems more rat rod everyday. I like calling it one as it is haggard on every body weld. Dual exhaust running from the 350 SBC, and build dirty and cheap mostly in the driveway. What else does it need besides age and chrome skulls? My thoughts are drive up over the idea that one day any car could be a rat rod with age and "love" to fix it. What are your guyses thoughts on the matter? Do you have a check list for rat rods?

  • A Rat is traditionally a car from before the Muscle Car Era, so pre '64. Your Blazer is a prime example of a beater and one great looking beater it is! Don't feel bad about it because "A Beater is Neater"! Just get the mechanicals working flawlessly and then drive the wheels off of it!
