Throughout the years I've seen so many people (including TLG itself) try to make a replica of London Bus with LEGO bricks. But sadly, to my eye, most of them failed. I'm pretty sure that even more people are waiting for this particular model to be submitted to the LEGO IDEAS website. To me, it's almost a dream come true.

Now, meet the masterpiece designed by great_mazinga .

The scale of the "UCS London Bus - Route 38" is 144 x 413 x 215 mm (w x d x h). And it contains 2656 pieces.

UCS London Bus - Route 38

UCS London Bus - Route 38 bricks : 2656 dimension : 144 x 413 x 215 mm (w x d x h) production period : approximately 3 months I know there are LEGO creator 40220 london buses currently, but I designed a large-sized London Bus hoping that a UCS version could be launched in the future. I have always loved cars ever since I was a child. Among all different kinds of cars, I liked light-weight vehicles and large buses especially. When I was a middle school student, I saw a romance movie that was filmed in Europe. There I saw a london bus running down the beautiful city filled with antique buildings. I was captivated by its retro design and the vivid red color. I grew a hobby of making LEGO after I became an adult. I wanted to make the bus I saw from the movie with LEGO. I found an image of the bus and used it as a reference, and I used LEGO digital designer for test production. I tried to make the entire silhouette as similar as the real bus. I put the emphasis on the major features of a london bus which are the front grill, the front hood, and the rear door. After the production, I used an extra technic bar to make the wheel arches look better. I modified the final design by separating the first and the second floor so that you can see the interior, the engine room, and the driver’s seat. The most rewarding part of this project is that my 2-year-old son loves the bus so much. It makes me smile every time I see him playing with the bus. I would love to create more new LEGO sets hoping my son would build them in the future.
