Hurrah! The 2022 Audi RS3 will DRIFT
Audi has revealed some juicy information about the upcoming RS3
Ahead of RS3's reveal, Audi has revealed some very juicy information of its hot hatchback. The RS3 will have 394 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. As a result, 0-62mph will take only 3.8 seconds and RS3 will have a top speed of 180 mph. The engine will be mated to seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and offer “lightning fast starts and heart-pounding acceleration”.
The main party-piece will be the ‘RS Torque Rear’ mode. Basically, this is Audi's Drift mode. That's right, the 2022 Audi RS3 will boast “controlled drifts” thanks to its new torque splitter “electronically controlled multiple-disc clutch on the respective drive shaft”.
That's not all as the RS3 will have six more modes - Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, RS Individual and RS Performance. The driving modes will tinker with the stiffness, suspension and throttle response of the car.
What's more, the RS3 will also have launch control, stiffer lower wishbones and subframes and stabilisers and ceramic brakes if you opt for the ‘RS Dynamic’ pack.
Audi claims that the RS3 will have less understeer and faster acceleration through corners while the RS Torque Splitter will be a "quantum leap for agile driving." The 2022 RS3 will be fully revealed in the coming weeks.
