Husqvarna Is About To Release The Most Beautiful Cafe Racer
And they can take all of my money.
Believe it or not, we do have a taste for motorcycles here at Shifting Lanes. More accurately, we like pretty things when we see them.
Finally confirming to be released next year is a concept that debuted about three years ago as the Vitpilen 401, the Vitpilen twins include a 701 powerplant as well. Colloquially known as cafe racers, these stripped-down, single-cylinder bikes feature sleek, throwback styling with a distinct lack of fairings.
The arrival of this motorcycle is exciting and curious as it will be Husqvarna's first street-only offering. Under the direction of KTM, we're sure the product will be right--but the price point? Given the MSRP of current Husqvarna models such as the 701 Enduro, it could be well within the five-figure range. For those looking to stand out from the crowd, though, the Swedish big single will get the job done.

Nice helmet...I don't see the bike itself!
What a fabulous state-of-the-art Design! Ticks all the right boxes for me. State of the art, without being over-designed and without trying to be retro as others. 12 points, Sweden!
Is Husqvarna owned by KTM now? Hope they do a better job than BMW! When I was a kid KTM and Husky were THE bikes for the hardcore off-roader so should be a good fit.
KTM bought Husky in 2014. The bikes are very similar, sorta like the Chevy/GMC thing. Very subtle differences. I expect the differences to widen as time goes on and Husky develops it's own identity.
This bike will be joining Lazareth, Triumph & Ducati classic division, Moto Guzzi...hmmm, what else?
