Hyde park road(SR 475), santa fe, nm
Ten miles, more than 40 turns, elevation changes and amazing views make this a must drive road when in santa fe.
Final portion of Hyde Park Road with dramatic elevation changes and twisty roads.
Starting in the north eastern section of Santa Fe, NM, Hyde Park Road (SR475) features more than 40 turns in less than ten miles. In addition to all the twists and turns, there are spectacular views and dramatic elevation changes from around 8,000 ft to nearly 10,000 ft. The road dead ends at the Santa Fe Ski basin giving you an opportunity to drive the road in both directions. Pro tip - This is an extremely popular road during the fall changing of the leaves, with several areas entirely covered with Aspen. The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta typically coincides with the changing of the leaves further increasing the numbers of leaf watchers during that time. Expect major traffic delays with out of town drivers more focused on the leaves than the road. Also beware of leaf photographers standing in the road, completely oblivious of traffic in the pursuit of the perfect photograph.
