Hydrogen is the new diesel and all-terrain vehicles are the new SUVs
Or ‘ROV’, as Lexus calls it
We have to figure out a way to make cars fun again. And when I say ‘we’ I mean the automakers. I mean, it’s obvious, isn’t it? New cars are too bland and boring. And it’s not because they’re electric.
I think ATVs, overlanders and off-road vehicles that *aren’t* SUVs could be a solution.
Lexus has recently launched a new concept called the ‘ROV’, and it’s powered by hydrogen. ROV stands for Recreational Off-highway Vehicle, but the way I see it that’s just another way of saying ATV.
Apart from its dimensions (3.12 mt x 1.72 mm x 1.8 mt) and the inevitable ‘sustainable’ this and ‘organic leather’ that; Lexus didn’t actually provide valuable information about it but it doesn’t matter. This is a concept and, as a concept, I think this it the way forward.
What do you think? I’d like to know what you think about ATVs and the current state of the industry in the comments.

Love it. It would have been great of they had put LFA's revcounter - looks similar but it would have been such a brand recognition quirk.
🤦♂️ now we're getting into ruining UTVs
Look closer, it's got a 10K RPM tach and a manual transmission. I think it uses toyota's hydrogen engine.
Ooo ok sounds interesting
Absolutely disagree, EVs are the new diesel and hydrogen is the new gasoline if you ask me. Also I'm absolutely redlining because of these two, First Toyota, Now Lexus, hopefully Mazda could be next with their rotary range extenders (let us hope those can be upscaled), maybe bmw could get motivated and revisit their V10 h-ice idea from the 2000.🤞
Hydrogen is not the new diesel, it's kinda the opposite in terms of applications
Lol, yeah, I just wanted to use the headline
Not if you think about the applications it's going into first.
Trucking, heavy transit, aviation.
All the places diesel/JP4/Jet-A are used to day.
Wouldn't mind hooning it around.
