Awhile back, Hyundai unveiled the production version of its Ioniq 5 electric hatchback. With concept-inspired styling, a spacious interior, and built on Hyundai's first dedicated EV platform, the Ioniq 5 is the first in a line of fully-electric vehicles from the Brand. Hyundai has finally announced pricing for the 2022 Ioniq 5, with base models starting at $39,700. However, with a $7,500 federal tax credit for EV's, pricing for base-model 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 models will be brought down to just $32,000, making it affordable for most EV shoppers. Read on to find out more about the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5. NOTE: All pricing discussed in this article includes a mandatory destination fee, but does NOT include any applicable taxes, or other fees.

Starting at $39,700, the base 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE Standard Range RWD comes very well-equipped for its price point. Standard features on the SE Standard Range trim includes a single 125kW electric motor with a 58kWh battery producing 168 horsepower, and Ultra-Fast Charging with an 800-watt (800W) charging system, four-wheel disc brakes with an Antilock Braking System (ABS), independent McPherson-Strut front and multi-link rear suspension, an electric power steering system, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality, six total airbags, a regenerative braking system with steering wheel-mounted paddles and brake assist, a forward collision avoidance assist system with junction turning, a blind spot collision avoidance system with rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist with lane following assist, driver attention warning, power rear door child locks and rear occupant alert, a vehicle stability management system with traction control, hill start assist with downhill brake control, a rear view monitor camera system with guidance lines, a rear park distance warning system, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) with individual tire monitoring, a tire mobility kit, active front grille shutters, LED front headlamps with automatic on/off delay functionality and automatic front high beam headlamp control, 19" "Aero" aluminum-alloy wheels, a 0.85 Cubic Ft. (0.85 Cu. Ft.) There are no available options or packages on the base SE Standard Range RWD trim, although it should be noted that this trim will have delayed availability, with all other trims available at launch.

The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE RWD, starting at $43,650, adds a 168kW electric motor with 225 horsepower, a 77.4kWh battery, and a towing capacity of up to 1,500 lbs.. The SE AWD trim, starting at $47,150, adds All Wheel Drive (AWD), as well as a heat pump, a battery heating system, and a 74kW electric motor in addition to the 168kW unit with a combined output rating of 320 horsepower, as well as an 'HTRAC' emblem on the rear tailgate. There are no options or packages available on either SE trim (RWD or AWD).

For those 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 buyers seeking even more convenience, there's the mid-level SEL RWD trim, which starts at $45,900, and adds more convenience items onto the base SE RWD trim, including LED projector-beam front headlamps, premium LED front accent lighting, power-folding exterior side mirrors, a HomeLink garage door opener system, a heated steering wheel, an ambient interior lighting system, a Qi-compatible wireless device charging system, leatherette-trimmed seating surfaces, "Soft-Touch" interior front and rear door panel trim, dual fully-automatic front power windows, rear HVAC system vents, a "Hands-Free" power rear tailgate with automatic-opening functionality, front AND rear park distance warning sensors, and Highway Driving Assistant II (HDA II). The SEL AWD model, starting at $49,400, adds these same features onto the base SE AWD trim. There are no additional options or packages on either SE trim (RWD or AWD).

For buyers of the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 seeking luxury amenities, there's the range-topping Limited RWD trim, starting at $50,600. The Limited RWD trim adds even more luxury amenities onto the mid-level SEL RWD trim, including a surround-view monitor camera system, a blind spot view monitor camera system, a reverse parking collision avoidance assist system, Gloss Black-painted exterior accents, a "Vision" fixed panoramic sunroof, rain-sensitive front windshield wipers, a premium heads-up display (HUD) system with augmented reality (AR) functionality, an integrated front driver's memory system, dual power-adjustable front bucket seats, dual heated AND ventilated front bucket seats, a front driver's bucket seat "Relaxation" Function, premium interior door sill plates, a sliding front center console, rear window-mounted sunshades, adjustable rear seat head restraints, a Vehicle To Load (V2L) on-board charging system, a rear cargo compartment area tonneau cover, a Near-Field Communication (NFC)-compatible Hyundai Digital Key System, Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA), and an eight-speaker Bose premium amplified audio system. The Limited AWD trim, starting at $54,500, adds these same features onto the mid-level SEL AWD trim, plus twenty-inch (20") aluminum-alloy wheels. There are no available options or packages on either Limited trim (RWD or AWD).

Exterior paint color options on the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 include Atlas White Clear Coat (Gloss White), Phantom Black Metallic (Metallic Black), Digital Teal Metallic (Metallic Blue-Green), Lucid Blue Metallic (Metallic Light Blue), Cyber Gray Metallic (Metallic Light Gray), Matte Shooting Star Clear Coat (Matte Dark Gray, NOT available on the base SE RWD/AWD trims). Interior color choices include Black (Monotone Black), Gray Two-Tone (Two-Tone Dark Gray/Light Gray), or Two-Tone Dark Green (Two-Tone Light Gray/Dark Green, NOT available on the base SE RWD/AWD trims). Hyundai will build the Ioniq 5 at its assembly plant in Ulsan, South Korea, and shares its platform with the upcoming 2023 Genesis GV60 EV and the 2022 Kia EV6. The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 will reach Hyundai dealerships nationwide by the end of 2021.
