I believe I have succeeded in another worlds first, fitting a B7 RS4 V8 and Running gear into a B5 Passat Platform.
The Fastest Shed is being upgraded, after having a year of issues with the 2.7 Bi turbo engine, I decided to change it.
As I do all the work myself and run on a tight budget, I had to figure out just how to achieve my goal, so I found a very low mileage RS4 that been recorded as having accident damage 3 years ago, but had been repaired and was back on the road.
I stripped the car, selling off all the parts I didn’t need to do this conversion, so as of writing this I have just recouped all my initial outlay, so this V8 engine, gearbox, all the running gear and ancillaries are free, well, apart from all the work that I have put in to it.
The Fastest Shed was based on a 4 motion Passat, which I originally built 3 yeas ago now, all fully approved and road legal here in the UK, I have covered 28,000 miles in it so far, hold several speed records including a Guinness world record, it has been an amazing journey so far.
Back to this engine, every single job I have done fitting it has thrown up a problem, which I have had to find a solution for, but as you can see, it is in and coming together well now.
I need a few parts now to finish it, so hopefully in about a weeks time we will be up and running again, ready to attend events all through the summer.
