I bought a new Aston and I don't know how I'm going to pay for it
So then, it’s that time again – NEW CAR AHOY!
I have to be honest with you though, I didn’t really intend to buy this one. What? Let me explain…
I had booked to go up to Edinburgh, where my lovely new AMR Vantage is from, for other purposes, just days before heading up there on a plane. That purpose being extra allocation and hotel rooms needing to be sorted on an emergency basis for the Modball Rally UK, (which I am co hosting). So it was a business trip really, that got out of hand, very quickly. (you book your place on Modball UK right here: modball.com/uk/ )
I had spoken to Aston Martin Edinburgh (Craig and Joe) about potentially borrowing their NEW Vantage demo while up in sunny Scotland, which was all confirmed. That was until the night before, when one of them confirmed that the car was no longer available due to delay with a customer, BUT they did have an AMR Vantage in the showroom, unregistered and new that they would register just for me as an apology to try out, if I kept the miles down. I excitedly agreed.
I arrived in Scotland and headed straight to the Aston Martin dealership, where a very shiny AMR Vantage was awaiting me. It was love at first sight. Having never even driven a Vantage before, I was buzzing to get in and have a go, with its spitfire sounding V8, timeless looks and manual gearbox. Not to mention tan trimmed buckets, alcantara everywhere and lime detailing throughout. I had the car for just over a day, and only covered 30 miles or so, but that was enough to ensure I was hooked. How I’m going to afford it? Who knows, all I know is that it’s en route to my garage as I type this, and it’s probably the easiest sale they’ve ever made! It won’t be replacing anything either, it will have its own place in my line up.
Stay tuned - make sure you subscribe to my channel for my first proper drive, and ownership antics with my brand new Aston Martin AMR Vantage. And of course much mayhem with my Aventador SV. Also, if you haven’t yet – do get your application in for Modball UK, it’s going to be chaos!
