I did the ECS Tuning motor mount and dogbone on the GTI last weekend. Would I recommend? Well obviously I’ve done limited driving so far, but I do have two observations. First, the mod does seem to bring some of the nasty GTI wheel hop under control, especially since I’m running APR stage 2 power and torque. (Of course you guys with 4motion may not have the wheel hop.) The second observation, however, is TONS of noise and vibration added to the cabin. It sounds like I’m running a diesel with no sound deadening, at least at lower revs. It’s not that I hate it. I like mechanical sounds. But, it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea. If you plan to autocross I think it would be very worthwhile. Also on the plus side it was an easy DIY - just a couple hours work. Just know that your friends may ask, “What is wrong with your car?” the next time they ride with with you. In response you can merely plant the accelerator on the floor in any gear. 😆
