I got a new background for my laptop - its a Ford (actually a Hennessey)
I like pickups, they seem practical. Space, big engine, big chassis, take it on the road, take it off road, its big enough to create a road, it can hold a lot of things and can definitely tow a few things including a boat or even a live-in trailer. Like I said seems practical. I definitely thought it turned impractical when you attached 6 wheels over 3 axels, but it just got better - I liked it and like it more every time I saw it. First it was the Mercedes Benz 6X6 now its the Hennessey VelociRaptor. Clearly for Hennessey Performance the Venom F5 wasn’t enough of a statement.
With its massive modified Ford Raptor frame its capabilities have increased. Hennessey claim it will do better in mud and sand. It has two additional wheels and an additional 150 bhp making it a 600bhp monster. Under the bonnet is an upgraded Ford 3.5 litre EcoBoost V6 engine with the 600 bhp performance upgrade. The upgrade includes Twin turbochargers, a re-tuned factory computer, stainless steel exhaust modifications and front mounted air to air intercooler and plumbing. In the rest of the pick-up, apart from the obvious 6X6 locking rear axels, it has an upgraded fox suspension, 20 inch wheels and off road tyres, custom built bumpers and fancier led lights, however you want your interior, an array of electronic gizmos and even armouring systems. I am curious if the armouring system is like the Resvani Tank? That option would be nice and would explain the 6x6 system.
There is a very nice yet surprising number to this pick-up - its weight. The 6X6 VelociRaptor weighs 700 pounds more than the stock raptor which is fine. The 2017 stock Raptor weighs around 5600 pounds Curb weight. With the 700 addition it is about 6300 pounds which is about the weight of the 2013 Ford SVT Raptor. When compared to the Mercedes Benz 6X6 its lighter by nearly 2700 pounds. With more hp than the Merc its sure to be faster as well. This lightens your bank account by US 350,000 at least. Sure as hell is a statement piece.
Like I previously said - I like Pick-ups, They seem practical. I know the VelociRaptor is practical. Its got space, big engine, big chassis, take it on the road, take it off road, its big enough to create a road, it can hold a lot of things and can definitely tow a few things and if John Hennessey can a some fun in it so can we. Its price is impractical, but, it makes a good background for my laptop.
