I reviewed the quirky Mitsubishi i-MiEV!

It's the rarest car I've reviewed.

If you've never seen this thing before, you are in for a treat. Introducing the 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV, an electric Mitsubishi made to compete against the Nissan Leaf of its day.

It's slightly odd shape and Bugatti Chiron-reminiscent side profile was among one of the weirdest cars sold in the United States as the time. Mitsubishi only sold 2,108 i-MiEV's in the United States, and this is one of them!

The i-MiEV features an all-electric powertrain, with a top speed of ~80 miles per hour and and a 0-60 in over 14 seconds. These seemingly poor figures are due to the minimal 66 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque the Mitsubishi i-MiEV's batteries produce.

However, this car was built to excel in the city, and it does just that. It's small size yet surprisingly wide wheelbase provide for easier maneuverability, and the interior packaging makes it surprisingly easy to fit four adults decently-comfortably. Overall, this car really surprised me, in both its ability to provide a regular-feeling car on an electric platform. For a full tour of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, watch the review above!

    • In a joking sense, the side profile does have the circular arc that wraps around the doors; similar to the Chiron.

      Clearly was a joke 😅
