Recently there has been something occupying my life, an itch that needs scratching, something that I feel I must have to complete my life…A FIRE ENGINE!
I’ve been watching a bloke on YouTube called Lawrie’s Mechanical Marvels.
Who basically documents himself purchasing idiotic vehicles and the many problems that occur during his ownership of them. He has four cars, two tractors, a small Locomotive and two Fire Engines.
The Fire Engines have started a deep desire deep inside me to own one. The other day whilst in college instead of listening to my lecturer speak about internet marketing, I was looking on eBay and Gumtree. I found one listed for £350 and I had to physically restrain myself from buying it.
A great big DENNIS Fire Engine is something that one day I feel I must own, a magnificent machine that in it’s bright red can be reconciled anywhere.
However, I’m not going to lie. This whole Fire Engine business has caused some conflict between those around me. Mainly because I don’t have a HGV license, a driving licence, any mechanical knowledge whatsoever, very little money, and nowhere to store a full-size Dennis Fire Engine. Personally, I don’t see what the issue is, not that I’m at all biased in any way.
Apart from those small issues I think I Fire Engine would be an excellent purchase, it would, make life so much easier if you think about it properly. Watering the garden – that could be done in about 2 minutes, filling up the paddling pool – well you could do that in about 30 seconds instead of standing next it with a hose pipe for 3 hours, and best of all, if you’re stuck in traffic and need to be somewhere – just turn on the blue flashing lights! You’ll be at that meeting in no time!
I’m still actively looking for a Fire Engine, and if one comes up that I like then I might have to start talking to my bank about my overdraft…
