I was lucky to experience a Tractor Dyno this week! The heat from the engine was immense!.. at least to someone who isn’t used to it.

The owner had said that the “unit wasn’t preforming” so they had lent him a 2021 model while they looked into the 2019 model, after some fuel tests, transmission inspection and what I would say a carrier bag of dirt was removed from the air box and filter (for information the garage installed a new air filter when returning the unit to the owner) then they completed a Dyno run on this engine which was pretty amazing to see. 302hp at the drive shafts and 1613lbs of Torques at 1800rpm! Which concludes the engine is preforming above the average being 290hp & 1590lbs of Torque.

Your question: why was I there?….
I was subcontracted in to repair other tractor units air conditioned cabins. Not all Fendt Machinery is air conditioned 🙂 so yes giving the opportunity/ building customer relations I done the air conditioning service & maintenance for free on this powerhouse 😉

    • Those are photos of the little Turbo glowing with heat from being run on the dyno, the guys turned the lights off to show me how hot the first turbo gets in operation.

  • Hope they gave that engine/turbo plenty of cool down time before they shut it down.

    • It was a very strange experience to see as I’m used to just seeing cars and bikes on rolling dyno machines as to this set up it was on a massive scale and sort of nerving seeing the wheels of that size spinning so fast. The dyno rig set up looked to be...

    • I’d have been nervous as well around a dyno with a tractor.
