Idiot Won Burnout Competition By Sending His Miata To A Fiery Death

Doing burnouts for the sake of tire destruction is one thing, doing burnouts to the point of destroying the car is just plain wrong. This is proof that some people just want to see the world burn, and they want to destroy things by starting out with their heavily modified Miata.

At Hyperfest 2017 in Virginia International Raceway, a burnout competition was held to test a car's ability to roll the odometer without actually moving anywhere. With that measure for success, the V8 equipped Miata with a roll cage performed spectacularly, thanks in huge part to an immovable concrete barrier. At first, the voluminous production of smoke gave a promising start. However, the change in engine note, the visible non moving rear wheel, and the production of smoke in places where there shouldn't be, gave a sense that something terribly wrong was about to happen.

With all of that V8 potential and none of it going to the slippage of the rear wheels, something had to give way. In this case, in the form of a big boom and a fire, followed by the transmission exploding and shattering through the front windshield. Amidst the actual burning out of the Miata, the redneck V8 Miata was unequivocally crowned winner of the Burnout competition.
