If Ford has its way the F-150 may take tailgating to a whole new level
Ford filed a patent in 2017 and recently updated it that will allow the beds of its F-150 lineup to be equipped with a portable movie theater. The patent “portable entertainment system for a pickup truck box” will allow drivers to have a screen, projector and speakers in the bed of the truck.
The F-150 has long been sold to fleets and those who work, but as SUVs and crossovers become more and more mainstream, buyers are becoming more and more interested in crew cab sized trucks; If this new addition catches on it could mean more time spent in the great outdoors watching movies, or just “Netflix and chilling”.
Chevy recently showed off its camping addition which allows a tent to be added to the beds of its trucks.
