Seiko 5s in general: they're great but some of the watches are stupendously overpriced because of demand and because YouTubers, Instagrammers and watch influencers in general have spent the last 5 years or so saying "hey, Seiko 5s are great and they're so cheap, I'm surprised they don't cost more"
this particular piece: go for it, great all-rounder. You can virtually put it on and never take it off 'cause it can take anything
Yeah the 7s26 is a reliable movement, if a little outdated. If it stops, you just shake it a little, along the Z-axis so to say-- the axis that runs through the pinion. They call it the "Seiko shuffle" and it should get your watch running in 20 seconds or so. After that, the natural movement of your wrist should keep it running. This should not be an issue if you wear it every day.
I wouldn’t worry too much about buying a winder box, never had one and currently own 4 automatic watches, it’s no hardship hand winding when you want to wear the watch, some of mine are getting on 20yrs old and I’ve never had any issues.
