9w ago

This afternoon IMSA announced the changes it is making to it's 2020 schedule. This is good news for fans of the sport and comes after president John Doonan said he was committed to running the full season.

These changes come after the announcement that the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, which was supposed to be held on March 21st, will now be held November 11-14th and will end the IMSA season. As well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which was originally slated for the weekend of June 13-14th, and will now take place on September 19-20th. While Le Mans isn't an IMSA event, there are drivers from the series that compete in the race.

The races that received new dates are as follows; The Acura Sports Car Grand Prix (Mid Ohio), original run date May 1-3rd, now being run September 25-27th. The IMSA Monterey SportsCar Championship at WeatherTech Raceway (Laguna Seca), original run date September 11-13th, now September 4-6th. Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway (Road Atlanta), original run date October 7-10th, now October 14-17th.

If you purchased tickets to any of these events, they will be valid on the new dates.
