IMSA Will Race Well Into Winter 2019 With The Michelin Sportscar Encore
Last year saw the first edition of the Sportscar Encore take place at Sebring back in November. The race brought together GT4, TCR and LMP3 cars for a 4-hour endurance race. This year however, it has been announced that GT3 cars will be added to the line-up. The event will take part on the weekend of the 8th to the 10th of November later this year and will once again take place on the concrete bumps of Sebring International Raceway.
The 2018 edition saw 20 cars take to the track with the ANSA Motorsport Ligier JSP3 LMP3 car driven by Roman de Angelis and Kyle Kirkwood taking the win. While the GT4 category was won by Nate Stacy, Kyle Marcelli and Dean Martin in the Roush Performance Mustang. With so many different categories, there is a chance that participation will be scarce so IMSA have said that they could remove a category if less than 5 cars enter.
Just like last year, I’m sure this year’s running of the race will be a great success and provide a good send off to Motorsport over the following few months until the Roar Before the 24.
