Insurance is probably going to total this out, but would it be worth it to fix this myself by replacing all the panels, and just paying a body shop to fix the quarter panel?

  • Rear quarters are by far my least favorite panels to deal with. If I were determined to keep this I would order a new panel raw, cut the spot welds on the old one, spot weld in the new rear quarter, then primer it, then paint it. The hard creases in that would make pulling it out with a puller and shrinking disk a serious time sink, and the chances of tearing the sheet metal are too high. No matter which way you slice it that panel needs to come off to be properly repaired.
