Meet the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ; an SUV from Cadillac that is set to be the future of Cadillac's design and overall presence. Though more importantly, this is Cadillac's chance at recapturing the fame they attained in the olden ages of the '70s and '80s: only this time, with electricity.

Throughout the next decade, Cadillac will define the future of luxury transportation

Cadillac

With the LYRIQ, you are met with a new stance in design from Cadillac, though the LYRIQ still looks distinctly Cadillac while looking radical and fresh. The bold front lines are continued to the rear, which features a daring light situation, with tail lights sprouting both from the rear bumper and the side panels.

The design certainly is impressive, but it also sets the stage for what you would think would be an issue. The LYRIQ is a fully electric SUV, with an estimated 300 miles of range when full. And as bold as it may be, the design doesn't exactly look aerodynamic. Nonetheless, Cadillac did manage to shell out 300 miles from the batteries, which is an impressive feat.

These batteries produce 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, which is pretty healthy for an SUV of this size.

It only takes 10 minutes to add 76 miles of range on a high-speed DC fast charger. For those charging at home, you'll need to wait a bit longer, as it takes one hour to get 52 miles of range.

The LYRIQ is also packed with an arsenal of technologies to help make the LYRIQ stand out from the other big dogs in its growing segment. You can get Super Cruise, or Cadillac's bid into the hands-free driver assistance system, as well as a rather massive 33-inch screen, which serves as both a gauge cluster and an infotainment screen. You get a noise cancellation system in the cabin, which will silence your ride even more considering that you won't have any engine noises either. A 19-speaker AKG speaker system is available in the LYRIQ, with some of the speakers being housed in the headrests.

As for colors in the LYRIQ, options are a bit dry: for the exterior, you can either get Satin Steel Metallic or Stellar Black Metallic. In the interior, you've got Sky Cool Gray or Noir.

With pricing starting at $59,990, the LYRIQ seems to provide great value for your money. Reservations will be live this year in September.
