There are been a rumour floating about in the automotive winds of late - Ford are thinking of making a crossover Mustang...
Motoring website The Drive noticed this when they reported on the announcement that the new Ford Explorer and the Lincoln Aviator will boast a new RWD system. But, this information has also shown the spark of interested in making a sporty Mustang-styled CUV. Oh? Do I now have your attention?
Yes, seeing it's a rumour, there isn't anything set in stone as such, but a lot of numbers and ideas have been spoken - Sedans are dying out, no one cares, so what do people want? They either want Hatchbacks or SUVs, so why not take the daddy of Ford's fun brigade, give it four doors and jack it up - that, my friends, is a Mustang CUV in the making.
To some, it sounds terrible and some will say it's heresy but if you could make a Ford CUV, why not use the Mustang? Imagine a Crossover car that could have a 5.0-litre V8 engine, a brand new RWD platform and those classic muscle car looks. It would be a strong contender for the BMW X4 and as a big fan of the Mustang - I hope it happens soon. Take this will a grain of salt, maybe a spoonful, for the time being.
But God damn Ford, take my money if you do!
