Is The Acadia The Better GM Family SUV?

I had the keys to this GMC Acadia for a week. Here are my thoughts.

Chevrolet makes the Traverse. Buick makes the Enclave. GMC got into the mix and is making the Acadia. Each of these vehicles are modeled and developed on the same platform. They all have their own values and options. After test driving the Acadia, is it the better option out of the trio? Each vehicle is around the same price, give or take a $4,000 difference, wit a variety of options. Well, let's carefully review and go over if it is.

Exterior Styling

"...star player on..."

Of the three family SUV's, the Acadia is one of the better looking models. It is more aggressive looking in the front fascia and has more edginess compared to the Enclave and Traverse. One other thing about the front of the Acadia is that the headlights look like eyes that are judging others who own the other 2 SUV's. The Acadia, like the rest, is massive in size when parked next to others SUV's. It is more poised and seems like it is breathing confidence like it is saying, "Yes, I am better than the others. I am worthy to be bought." In short, it is like the star player on the football team.

Interior Design

"...being cramped up..."

Like most stars on the football team, there is a lot of space inside and not much to go on about. The same goes for the Acadia. Sure, there is plenty of space and room for a family, but it isn't the most exciting interior to be offered in a vehicle. But for a family, that is perfect as long as no one cares what the interior looks like. Maybe it isn't flashy, but it has multiple USB ports for charging devices, plenty of space so the children don't complain about being cramped up, and when there needs to be plenty of hoarding (I mean shopping at the supermarkets), the seats can go down to hold all of the toilet paper and food needed for a few month's supply. On top of that, the seats are quite comfortable.

Price and Options

So, how much does this Acadia Denali cost? After everything, the total price comes to $52,435. What does that get a potential buyer? Well for safety, the Acadia comes with tons of airbags, front and rear park assist, following distance indicator, forward collision alert, forward distance indicator, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, lane change alert with blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, HD rear vision camera, and Teen Driver mode. For comfort and convenience, the Acadia comes with 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, heated 2nd row captain seats, heated and ventilated powered front seats, powered tilt and telescoping heated steering wheel, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with Bluetooth Capabilities, leather and wood trim, wireless device charging, Bose sound system, rear view mirror monitor, sat-nav, and active noise cancellation.

Performance

"...like the others...""

The Acadia makes enough power, like the others, to overtake on the highway and also achieves around the same fuel economy compared to the others. I was able to achieve roughly 16 miles to the gallon with my driving habits. As with the other vehicles, ride comfort is the same as the other models as well. Nothing is really different. The steering is light and sharp. The suspension keeps the drama away while the seats provide the needed support to make it through a long journey. The only difference is that the gear knob is replaced with gear selector levers and a park button. It takes some getting used to, but it manages well.

Please Spare A Moment OF Time

VINCERO Watches has partnered with North's Auto Reviews and I to bring you some very cool and luxurious bracelets and watches. In this review, I am featuring a dress bracelet made for the men and a luxury watch women. The bracelet is made of Italian leather with a metal clasp. For the Men's, this bracelet is called "The Single" with a single braided mocha brown leather band and a silver clasp. For the Women's watch, which is crafted with perfection, style, and beauty, this bracelet is called "MArble Mesh" with a stainless steel mesh strap that is painted black, Nero Italian marble watch face with black case and rose gold dials and time sets. If you aren't interest, continue on down to the conclusion.

Conclusion

"...has much more..."

So, is the Acadia the better family SUV in the GM line-up? In short, no. If you are looking at the three vehicles, the better option is the Buick Enclave. Why? Because the one I test drove is nearly $3,000 cheaper and it has all of the same feel, quality, ride comfort, and options. Plus, the interior is way more exciting and has much more character. The Acadia is as bland as almost any SUV could come. If one were to buy an Acadia, it would just be for the name. To make the Buick cheaper, and not have to explain why you have one, is to not get the sunroof option. All in all, the Enclave is the more practical choice in this sense. So go and buy that instead. Don't waste your time.
